Welcome to the Souvenir Box of The Mountain Academy 2. You will find different media (pictures, reports, videos) related to our adventures in various beautiful places. The site is created by the team members so you can surely find first-hand information and pure individual impressions here! You can also follow us at our facebook fan page.
The Mountain Academy 2 is a unique event organized by Mountain Hardwear in collaboration with Black Diamond and AKU. The purpose of the program is to gather a group of young alpinists who will experience the unforgettable mountaineering adventure. Bound by the same passion we develop ourselves in various fields. In terms of social abilities we discover new cultures, cooperate inside the team and create a real team’s story. Accompanied by professional mountain guides we improve our climbing skills and learn new techniques to evolve safely on the playground. Finally we use various ways of communicating this incredible experience – such as photos, videos or text reports. Since alpinism is too often perceived under the angle of performance and risk our main goal remains simple: to bring to the fore all the fantastic emotions alpinism can provide. Our message is all about the human experience and pure joy taking place in beautiful environment.
During the application stage 9 candidates from all over Europe were selected. Between May 2011 and October 2012 we travel to 5 different mountain locations. Each stage is about 1 week long and the purpose is to try a different mountaineering/climbing activity each time. Our safety is guaranteed by a team of proffesional mountain guides whereas the partners support us with great outdoor apparel and equipment.
In order to better understand what TMAc is about please watch the video prepared by the team members during their 3rd ice climbing stage in Cogne, Italy:
