Valais : Aude’s interview

Aude, given your alpine experience, did you have any “fears” about the second stage of The Mountain Academy 2 ?

Well, I am not that used to practise moutaineering in foreign country. So, I was really excited to discover a new range and in the same time, was also wondering about my adaptation…

And finally…?

… and finally, thanks to the team, I felt really good in the middle of this giant 4000m summits and their amazing glaciers! Grand Cornier, Dent Blanche, Pointe de Zinal, Ober Gabelhorn, Trifthorn, Zinalrothorn, Blanc de Moming, Besso… all new relatives of mine, now!

Can you tell us 1 or 2 things you have learnt this week?

On the glaciers : ONE method to rope up properly. And we made some exercices to get (someone) out of a crevasse. I really needed that!

On rock moutaineering : I really like that guides took time to teach me some tricks about guiding when climbing down, whereas I didn’t feel confident about it…

What would be your “+” and your “-” of this week?

+ : discover a new range, spend one whole week in high altitude and of course live all that with the team and always knowing better each other!

– : it’s already over :-(.

What is your favourite MHW / BD / Aku product ?

I’m so happy with lot of them… Well, let’s simply speak about the carabiners and the ATC guide we were providing for at the 1st stage. Since it, I just use them all the time and always appreciate their great comfort!

If this week would be a colour, it would be …?

… A mix of :

– White and Blue for the impressive surroundings under pure weather,

– Black and Red, as our favourite clothes,

– And, I just have to add Yellow and Green… to get the best card to win Uno, right?

… and if it would be a flavour?

The taste of collective adventure.. in great conditions!

What are your plans once you get back home?

To delight of Fall atmospheres before jumping into Winter!
